The project consisted of an expansion of the facility with a 1,200 sq. ft. warm water leisure pool and the renovation of their existing 2,300 sq. ft. lap/fitness pool. The project began with a facility evaluation letter. The report outlined the necessary actions for compliance with the Virginia Graeme Baker Act of 2009, and recommendations for upgrades to the main drain and recirculation system. The modifications were designed to be as minimal and inexpensive as possible while ensuring the facility’s compliance with the new federal regulations.
The emphasis of the new pool was family fun. Larkin Aquatics worked with YMCA staff to design a pool that incorporated play amenities that would add excitement for all ages.
